Indian companies bag $30 mln orders in SA
New Delhi, June 5: The Indian companies have received orders of about 30 million dollars at a recently concluded exhibition 'FUTUREX 2007' in South Africa.
''Soccer World Cup 2010 can provide a major kick-start to the South African economy. There will be demand to equip broadcasters, logistics, ticketing etc, where Indian ICT entrepreneurs will have a cutting edge,'' Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) Executive Director Deepak Sareen said.
Mr Sareen added that some of the infrastructure projects planned for 2010 will extend beyond the World Cup and help to sustain the economy going forward.
To enhance cooperation and exchange of useful information in the field of ICT between the two countries, ECSEPC has signed an MoU with Electronics Industry Federation of South Africa.
While, Net4India has partnered with a South African company on a large scale project related to VoIP, domain name registration, web hosting and email.
N K Software Exports has signed an agreement with South Africa's Time Tunnel Technologies Pvt Ltd, where N K Software will serve as a back end office of Time Tunnel.
Contracts picked up by Time Tunnel in RSA and other adjoining countries will be taken up at the Delhi and Lucknow offices of N K Software.
The Indian display at FUTUREX 2007, where India was the partner country, included application software, mobile development, web hosting, healthcare services, medical billing and coding, travel and aviation technology. software consultancy, web development, IT education and training etc.
