Hooda for improving educational standard in govt schools
Chandigarh, June 5 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today called upon the principals of various educational institutions in the state to work towards abridging the gap in the standard of education between private and government schools.
The Chief Minister, while addressing a conference-cum-orientation programme of principals and field officers in the state at Panchkula today, said "Though this gap has been reduced as a result of the number of innovative steps taken by the state government during last two years, but its pace of reduction should have been faster".
Mr Hooda said that the government could provide all necessary infrastructure for promotion of education and facilities to enable the head of the institutions to give their best to the students, but it was for them to create a more congenial atmosphere for bringing about qualitative improvement in education.
He said the state government has taken number of steps in the field of education like setting up of two more universities including a woman university and a university of science and technology. Rajiv Gandhi Education City was also being set up to enable the students of Haryana to get education of international standard.
"The introduction of EDUSAT has proved to be a very usefull programme and he has been informed that even teachers could be imparted training through this system" Mr Hooda added.
During the conference, appreciation letters were given to 35 principals of those schools which had 100 per cent pass result.
