High humidity level leaves Kolkatans in discomfort
Kolkata, June 5 (UNI) Despite the maximum and minimum temperatures not shooting significantly above the normal level, Kolkata and its adjoining areas experienced an uncomfortable day today, mainly due to the high humidity levels.
A partly cloudy sky towards the early part of the morning had Kolkatans hoping for some showers.
However, the sky cleared towards the afternoon to reveal the scorching sun, causing heat-related illnesses and dehydration to many people.
The Alipore Met office recorded the maximum temperature at 35.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 26.8 degrees Celsius.
The maximum humidity level was 84 per cent.
The maximum temperature tomorrow is likely to be around 36 degrees Celsius, Met sources added.
