Haryana to set up Accreditation Cell for schools
Chandigarh, Jun 5 (UNI) The Haryana School Education Board has decided to set up an Accreditation Cell for grading the schools and monitoring quality of education in the state.
Board Chairman R S Gujral said the accreditation cell would provide the grades to both private and government schools according to their performances.
He said this cell would enhance the transparency and improve the quality of education in the schools.
Mr Gujral said with the introduction of the semester system at the school level, there was a drastic improvement in the examinations results.
The pass percentage of the Middle Examinations had increased from 54.86 per cent to 66.59 per cent. In case of Secondary Examinations the pass percentage had increased from 57.17 per cent to 67.74 per cent and in case of the Senior Secondary Exams, the pass percentage had increased from 52.64 per cent to 68.75 per cent.
Rural students had gained more than urban students by the implementation of this system. The system has also narrowed the difference between the Government and the private schools both in average marks and pass percentage, he added.
