Guj govt all for safety of environment: Modi
Gandhinagar, June 5 (UNI) In order to control air pollution through fuel, Gujarat government has set up a network of gas pipelines for crematoriums, house cooking, industries and power generation, said Chief Minister Narendra Modi today.
While speaking on the occasion of World Environment day he said, ''I have also suggested Prime Minister to urge the G/8 countries to launch 'sun movement' for solar energy,''.
Gujarat has always done its best for the betterment of environment. In recent years, the government has planted 26.90 cr trees in the State, he said.
On this occassion, Mr Modi released two books -- 'Gir Lion' written by Dr H S Singh and 'Forest Conservation' published by forest department.
