Faux pas in UP Board results announcement
Lucknow, June 5 (UNI) A local Hindi newspaper published the Uttar Pradesh Board results for the 2007 high school examinations, even before the same were formally announced here this afternoon.
A senior assistant of the state secondary education department Harish Chandra Sharma posted at Allahabad had allegedly leaked the password to the daily.
The faux pas came to light when the media assembled for the press conference to be addressed by secondary education director Sanjay Mohan. The incident agitated the newspersons, who demanded prompt action in this regard.
Later, Mr Mohan announced the suspension of Sharma with immediate effect and assured of action against others involved, if found guilty in the matter.
''We deeply regret this irregularity, which has prima facie taken place due to the laxity of Mr Sharma. He has been suspended and I can assure you that no one, even an official, would be spared in this regard if found guilty,'' Mr Mohan maintained.
