Fake currency detected in Vadodara

Vadodara, Jun 5 (UNI) Fake currency of Rs 7,200 was detected from branches of Bank of India, Dena Bank, Bank of Baroda and Indian Bank.

Ahmedabad office of the Reserve Bank of India noticed the fake notes and informed Vadodara Police Commissioner PC Thakur, who then ordered an inquiry into it an FIR be registered. DCB PSI DD Damor took up the case and began the investigation.

From the following branches fake notes have been detected: Dena Bank's Alkapuri branch: two fake 500 rupees notes; BoB's Gotri branch: one fake Rs 1000 note; BOI Alkapuri branch nine Rs 500 notes and from Indian Bank's Raopura branch seven Rs 100 notes. A total of 19 fake notes have been detected.
