Copper, nickel rise on good industrial demand

Mumbai, Jun 5 (UNI) Copper and nickel today rose after yesterday's declined on good industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy went up by Rs 400 per quintal on better buying support. But brass cutting eased by Rs 500 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bar and lead ingots hiked by Rs 500 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on lesser stock supply.

Tin slab and Nickel cathode edged up by Rs five and Rs 20 per kg respectively on increase of demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,500, Copper utensils - Rs 31,500, Brass utensils - Rs 25,700, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,800.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 39,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,200, Lead ingots - Rs 10,200, Tin slab - Rs 720 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,240 (per kg).
