Congress introspection must on poll defeat, says Jogi

Raipur, June 5 (UNI) Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi today said defeat of Congress candidates in the assembly by-election in two constituencies in the state clearly indicated the need for an introspection within the organisation.

In a statement here, he said the Congress got the lead in Khairagarh segment in the recent Lok Sabha by-election in Rajnandgaon, but the party candidate lost the assembly by-poll from the same segment.

Similarly in Malkharoda(SC) constituency, an introspection was necessary to find out why the party candidate had lost the polls by a huge margin, as compared to the 2003 election, even after securing the support of Nationalist Congress Party, he said.

Mr Jogi said a healthy debate on these issues would help the party to move in a right direction.
