Cochin Corpn Secretary summoned by HC
Kochi, June 5 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the Cochin Corporation Secretary to appear before it in connection with a case relating to illegal construction and encroachment, disturbing the free flow of water in the Perandoor canal here.
A Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice H L Dutta and Mr Justice K T Sankaran, observed that the Secretary had failed to comply with the order of the court.
The court passed this order while disposing of a contempt petition filed by the Institute of Social Welfare. The court had earlier directed the authorities to take immediate action to evict the unauthorised occupants and remove encroachments.
