CGHS employees on hunger strike at Jantar Mantar
New Delhi, Jun 5 (UNI) Fifteen members of the All India CGHS Employees Association today began a 24-hour long hunger strike at Jantar Mantar here, in support of their demands for filling vacant posts and implementation of the Assured Career Promotion scheme in true spirit.
Association General Secretary Ram Kishan said, ''The ACP scheme is our right, given by the Central Government and it has not been implemented till now. About 150 CGHS units are runing without beneficiaries. About 800 posts are vacant which should be filled up.'' He also said there should be timely confirmation of employees as per Government rules. The service book of the staff has not been properly maintained, he added.
The employees have been agitating for long and had staged demonstrations and dharnas in front of their Headquarters here.
''We are preparing ourselves for a direct fight against the system,'' he said.
