BoA approves SEZ proposals of Reliance and Wipro

New Delhi, Jun 5 (UNI) The Board of Approval (BOA) today gave formal approval to 26 projects and in-principle approvals to nine such projects, including special economic zone of Reliance Industries in Haryana and Wipro.

The Reliance project pertains to provision of multi services and is to be located in Gurgaon over an area of 440 hectares. The Wipro SEZ project pertains to Information Technology sector and Information Technology Enabled Services and is to be located in Hyderabad over an area of 40.46 hectares.

The Reliance Haryana SEZ and SRI City SEZ were converted from in- principle approval to formal approval.

The Board met this morning to consider 42 new applications for setting up of SEZs.

Another important approval granted by the Board related to SRI City SEZ for a multi product services project. The in-principle approval was converted into a formal approval for the SRI City SEZ and Haryana Reliance SEZ Ltd.

Prominent among the formal approvals are Agro processing SEZ by MIDC in Maharashtra, IT/ITES SEZ by MIDC in Thane, Maharashtra, Gems and Jewellery SEZ by Royal Palms India in Maharashtra, IT/ITES SEZ by WIPRO Limited in Andhra Pradesh, Multi product SEZ by Indiabulls Industrial Infrastructure Limited in Maharashtra, Two IT/ITES SEZs by TIDCO in Tamil Nadu, IT/ITES SEZ by APIIC in Andhra Pradesh, Airport based multi product SEZ by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited in Andhra Pradesh, Handicrafts and Artisan SEZ by Gujarat Growth Centres Development Corporation Limited in Gujarat, Electronic Hardware SEZ by SIPCOT in Tamil Nadu, Handicrafts SEZ by Mansarover Industrial Development Corporation in Rajasthan.

Prominent in-principle approvals granted include Gems and Jewellery SEZ by Gitanjali Gems Limited in Maharashtra, Leather industry SEZ by MIDC in Maharashtra, Steel SEZ by Jaibalaji Sponge Limited in West Bengal, Multi Services SEZ by Gitanjali Gems Limited in Maharashtra, Multi product SEZ by Indiabulls Builders Limited in Maharasthra, Textile SEZ by DLF Limited in West Bengal and Multi product SEZ by Rewas Ports Limited in Maharashtra.
