AP: Blast: Iron ore prod in NMDC mines paralysed
Hyderabad, June 5: The iron ore production at Bailadila mines, owned by National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), has been paralysed as the Moaists blasted three high tension transmission towers near Narayanpur in Bastar division on May 31.
According to a press release here, the loss of production was about 60,000 tonne per day to the tune of Rs nine crore.
The disruption has stopped iron ore movement from the Bailadila project to steel plants and iron plants around Raipur. Major customers like Rastriyua Ispat Nigam Limited, Essar, Ispat Industries and Vikram Ispat were facing problems due to non-movement of iron ore.
It would take six to seven days to restore power in the affected areas. It has also severely affected the life of common man since there has been no supply of water and electricity in the township and other areas, the release added.
