BJP set to retain Hamirpur Parliamentary seat

Hamirpur, Jun 5 (UNI) The BJP is all set to retain the Hamirpur Parliamentary seat with its candidate and former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal leading with a huge margin, official sources said.

Mr Dhumal was leading with a huge margin over his Congress candidate and state Forest Minister Ram Lal Thakur, the sources told UNI here.

Till 1230 hrs, the former chief minister was leading with over 55,000 votes in the elections being held after Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee suspended BJP MP Suresh Chandel following his involvement in the ''cash for query scam.'' UNI
