3 held for attempting to murder teenager

Siddharthnagar, June 5 (UNI) Three people, including a gram pradhan, were arrested for attempting to kill a teenager here, after failing to molest her in Pathra area.

The incident occurred at Sehrau village late yesterday, where some youths attempted to burn alive the teenager by throwing kerosene at her, Police Superintendent P K Srivastava told UNI.

The victim, who suferred 60 per cent burns, has been admitted to hospital, where she is reported critical.

A named FIR under the Gangster Act has been lodged against four accused. Three of them Virendra, Dinesh and Devta have been nabbed.
