TDP demands dismissal of Revenue Minister
Hyderabad, June 3 (UNI) The Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh today demanded that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy dismiss State Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao from the Cabinet.
Talking to newspersons here, TDP senior leader and former Minister K Venkat Rao alleged that the Revenue Minister had indulged in corruption by misusing the Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) Act.
He claimed that ''the Chief Minister taking over the responsiblity of implementing ULC Act from the Revenue Minister itself shows that corruption was taking place in the Revenue department.'' Demanding that the Government constitute an inquiry committee to unearth the corruption, Mr Rao alleged that corruption to the tune of Rs 3,000 crore had taken place in the revenue department.
