Sonia, TN Gov greet Karuna on his 84th b'day

Chennai, Jun 3: AICC President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi today greeted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi on his 84th birthday.

An official release here said Ms Sonia spoke to Mr Karunanidhi over phone and greeted him.

Tamil Nadu Governor S S Barnala also greeted the Chief Minister on the occasion.

In his greetings, Mr Barnala said, ''Your able administration and political sagacity and people oriented projects have steered Tamil Nadu towards the path of a very progressive and developed state.'' ''I wish you a long and healthy life in your distinguished service to the state and the nation'', a Raj Bhavan release said.

Mr Barnala's son Jasjit Singh Barnala presented a bouquet on behalf of the Governor to Mr Karunanidhi on the occasion, the release said.
