Sacked KSOU temporary employees barred entry to Unviersity

Mysore, June 3 (UNI) The temporary employees of the Karnataka state open university (KSOU) are in a great shock as they are not supposed to enter the premises from tomorrow, following the orders from the Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi.

The incident had created furor when Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy during his visit recently, asked the agitating temporary employees to occupy seats in the university and also reportedly criticised the Vice Chancellor Sudha Rao.

In the subsequent development the Governor ordering 'relieving' of 223 temporary employees. In a letter the Governor who is the Chancellor of the University asked the registrar to relieve them from their duties.

As per the Governor's communication, the 223 temporary employees should be barred as they are termed unauthorised persons and should be prevented from entering the university premises with immediate effect.

The order has come in response to the report submitted by KSOU Prof Sudha Rao to the Governor.

Sources said Prof Rao who is currently on leave, had met the Governor and appraised him of the recent developments in the university, overruling her request for extension of leave the Governor asked her to continue the new recruitment process.

When Prof Sudha Rao was contacted she admitted that she had met the Governor but did not elaborate. She is expected to resume duty tomorrow.
