MES beat Patiala club in Hot Weather cricket

Patiala, June 3 (UNI) The local MES (Black Elephant) cricket club trounced underdogs NICS cricket club, Patiala, by a huge margin of 194 runs here today in the 9th Hot Weather Cricket Tournament (Under-13) at the MES cricket ground.

MES won the toss and opted to bat first. Anmolpreet Singh scored a hurricane unbeaten century (126) and Prabhjot Singh too played a superb knock of 98 not out.

Both sent the NICS fragile bowling attack on a leather hunt.

For NICS, no bowler could stop the slaughter and MES went on to score 280 for 3 in the allotted 40 overs. Only Akash and Mandeep Singh bagged a wicket each, giving away 45 and 40 runs respectively.

In reply, NICS were bundled out for a paltry 86 in 34.1 overs.

Nikhil Kumar scored 20. Gursewak Singh took 3 for 12, Ashish Chauhan captured 2 wickets, conceding 6 runs.
