New Delhi, June 3: Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel, Steel magnate L N Mittal and eminent economist Lord Meghnad Desai will address group of CEOs from India and abroad at the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum (GBF) at Leeds, UK, on June 7.

The forum will act as a platform for debate on issues pertaining to policy and performance of the Indian economy and the exchanges that will follow, to make both the sides better-informed about the interest of the investors and their concerns.

Among the issues that will crop up at the GBF include opening up of the Indian civil aviation sector, modernisation of Indian airports, matters pertaining to IT and telecom and the phenomenal opportunities opening up in the areas of agribusiness and private healthcare.

A 60-member FICCI delegation will leave for the UK on a three-day mission on June 7 to attend the much-hyped event and meet British authorities to sort out hassles in the way of Indian companies doing business with the United Kingdom.

A recent phenomena of India's economic development is the large outflow of FDI and it is pertinent to note that last fiscal outward FDI flows matched inward flows of FDIs.

The delegation will put across the table to the British authorities the requirements of Indian companies in doing business with the UK, including liberal access for intra-corporate tranferees.

The delegation will also avail of the opportunity to take up the problem of repatriation of social security contributions of Indian professionals working in the UK.

FICCI President Habil Khorakiwala exuded confidence that the bilateral relations between India and the UK were for a big leap forward and felt that the business communities of the two countries will be harbinger in this regard.
