Chinese delegation arrives at Gangtok

Gangtok, Jun 3 (UNI) A four-member Chinese delegation led by, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief Mission, Bu Jianguo, arrived here this afternoon on a field visit to Nathu La pass.

The Chinese delegation was felicitated by members of India-China Traders Association of Sikkim upon their arrival. The delegation would be calling on Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling and State Industries Minister R B Subba tomorrow before proceeding towards Nathu La.

From Nathu La, they would cross the border into Tibet Autonomous Region where they would halt for one night. According to the itinerary, on June 5, they would return to Gangtok before leaving Sikkim on June 6.

Discussions on improvement of Nathu La border trade are expected to figure in their interaction with the Chief Minister and the local traders.
