Amritsar all out for 230 in Punjab inter district

Patiala, June 3 (UNI) Amritsar were all out for 230 in 92.4 overs against the formidable Patiala outfit on the opening day of Punjab Inter-District cricket (Under-19) for Dhruve Pandove Trophy here at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium.

Patiala won the toss and opted to field first. Pankaj Choudhary and Guriqbal were in the thick of runs. While Choudhary compiled chanceless 69 in 131 balls, hitting nine fours, Guriqbal played a fine innings to score 61 in 124 balls.

The other Amritsar batsmen failed to create any impression of good batsmanship.

For Patiala, Rajwinder Singh bagged 3 wickets, giving away 48 runs, Bhavish Goyal also took an equal number of wickets, conceding 66 runs. Inform pacer Mohit Mohindra captured 2 wickets, giving away 44 runs.

In reply, Patiala were 2 for no loss in two overs at close of play. Karan and Jeevanjot are unbeaten on 1 each.

Tomorrow will be the crucial day for Patiala when their batsmen will have to show application to gain a first innings lead.
