Advani asks PM to call all-party meet on Gujjar issue

Ahmedabad, Jun 3 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani today demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh immediately call an all party meeting to find a solution to the ongoing Gujjar agitation in Rajasthan, which has claimed several lives.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Advani said to put an end to political games on reservation in India, all the parties should meet and deliberate on the issue.

He had met the Prime Minister in New Delhi to discuss the ongoing Gujjar stir and urged him to call all party meeting to resolve the issue at the earliest, Mr Advani said.

The former BJP's president said he had talked to Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje to take stock of the situation in the violence-wracked state. During the talks, Ms Raje had informed him that the situation would be soon be under control, he disclosed.
