Undertrial gives slip to police

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Jun 2 (UNI) An undertrial prisoner gave the slip to escort personnel from a hospital in Bhimavaram Town in West Godavari district this morning.

Official sources said Kudipudi Srinivas (36) of Penugonda Mandal had been remanded to custody by a local court in connection with a sexual assault case.He was taken to the Bhimavaram Sub-Jail.

Meanwhile, Srinivas complained of stomach ache and heartburn after which the jail authorities shifted him to the government hospital.

Srinivas was brought back from jail only to complain again of similar trouble this morning.

He was once again taken to the hospital where he gave the slip to his escorts on the pretext of answering nature's call.
