Six killed in car accident near Kalka

Kalka, June 2 (UNI) Six persons, including five of a family were killed when their car collided with another vehicle near this town this morning, police here said.

According to police reports, the victims included Parveen Kumar, his wife Indu, daughters Reetika and Deepika and sons Mohit and Yarik. All of them were residents of Mandi Gobindgarh in Punjab and had come to pay obeisance at a temple here.

The sixth victim was identified as Parminder Singh, the driver of the car and a resident of Rajpur Gujjar village near Bassi Pathana in Punjab.

The police said that the accident occured when they were returning home after paying obeisance. Their car collided with a loaded truck which was coming from the opposite direction.

The police has registered a case against the truck driver, who is absconding.
