Seven killed in accident near Kalka

Kalka, June 2 (UNI) Seven persons, including six of a family, were killed when their car collided with another vehicle near here this morning, police said.

According to police, the victims included Parveen Kumar, his wife Indu, daughters Reetika and Deepika and sons Mohit and Yarik.

All of them were residents of Mandi Gobindgarh in Punjab and had come to pay obeisance at a temple here.

The seventh victim was identified as Parminder Singh, the driver of the car and a resident of Rajpur Gujjar village near Bassi Pathana in Punjab.

The police said the accident occurred when they were returning home after paying obeisance. Their car collided with a loaded truck which was coming from the opposite direction.

The police has registered a case against the truck driver, who is absconding.
