Lava-like substance emerges in MP village
Khandwa, MP, June 2 (UNI) A brief blaze erupted from barren land and a lava-like substance emerged at Chhegaon Makhan village ten km from this district headquarters.
''The fire was about three feet high and emerged near Indra Colony last night. About one-and-a-half kg of the substance was found accumulated at one spot. The substance created holes in a radius of roughly 5 m,'' said Chhegaon SHO R S Solanki.
''The incident terrified people. The area is in Pandhana tahsil where platectonic incidents have taken place earlier,'' said Chhegaon Panch Madan Barse, an eyewitness.
Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology former Director-General Janardan Negi told UNI that the substance ought to be analysed as Pandhana is in the Narmada Fault zone.
''Scientists' opinions are being sought,'' said Collector Nikunj Shrivastav.
