Delhiites puff and pant as hottest day rocks the Capital
New Delhi, Jun 2 (UNI) The summer put on its hottest day of the season with the temperature soaring to 44.1 degrees Celsius, sending hapless citizens running for cover.
Even as the temperature shot up by more than four degrees, as compared to Thursday last, the scorching sun blazed through the day amidst a clear sky, according to the Met department.
Despite the minimum day temperature at 27 degrees, which was one degree less than what is experienced this time of the year the maximum temperature today recorded three degrees 'above normal'.
To add to the woes of the ordinary Dilliwalas, the weatherman has predicted the same temperature for the next 24 hours, with possibility of a dust storm.
The Met department said the excessive heat was mainly due to the fact that disturbances in air flow had moved ahead and there was no circulation of air in the upper reaches in and around the Capital.
