Centre to discuss demand on Prez rule in Rajasthan tomorrow: Patil
New Delhi, June 2 (UNI) Home Minister Shivraj Patil today said the demand to impose President's rule in Rajasthan would be discussed tomorrow.
The issue of invoking Article 356 in Rajasthan, in view of the deteriorating law and order, situation, three would be discussed tomorrow, Mr Patil said in his meeting with Akhil Bharatiya Gurjjar Vikas Sangthan (ABGVS) president Avtar Singh Bhadana.
Mr Bhadana, who met the Home Minister after his four-day 'tour' of Rajasthan, told mediapersons that Mr Patil assured him that the matter would be discussed tomorrow.
''The Home Minister said he will discuss the issue tomorrow when I apprised him of the situation in Rajasthan and demanded that Article 356 be invoked in the state to restore normalcy there and a CBI inquiry be conducted to nail those responsible for aggravating the situation,'' he added.
Speaking at his residence before the Gujjar community leaders' meeting, called to discuss the 'next action plan', the Lok Sabha MP said the issue was a social one and not political in nature.
''Had the government talked to the community leaders in the beginning, matters wouldn't have gone out of control. We have a 'bhai chara' relationship with the Meena community and we appeal to them to not let others take advantage of the situation,'' he said.
