Cadets pass out of Navy's 73rd Integrated Cadets Course

Kochi, Jun 2 (UNI) A total of 93 cadets, including one from Mauritius, today passed out of the 73rd Integrated Cadets Course after completing their basic afloat training on board the First Training Sqaudron comprising Indian Naval ships Tir, Sujata and Tarangini.

The Passing Out Parade was reviewed by Read Admiral Sunil Lamba, Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command, senior naval officers and parents of the cadets.

The parents and close relatives of the cadets had the proud privilege of shipping the Midshipmen epaulettes and Sub-Lieutenant Stripes on the boys.

The cadets will now join frontline warships of the Western and Eastern fleets as midshipmen for the next six months.

Cadet Ashok Garg received the coveted 'Chief of the Naval Staff Trophy' and 'Binoculars' for standing first in the course. Cadet Jayaram Nair received the 'Telescope' for the 'Best All-Round Cadet' while Cadet Anil Rathee was awarded the 'FOC-in-C East Rolling Tropy' for most promising cadet.

The 24-week sea training included an overseas deployment wherein the ships of the squadron sailed to Jeddah, Massawa and Muscat, an official release said here.
