BSP demands dismissal of lectures

Puducherry, June 2 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today demanded the dismissal of the lecturers who struck work and refused to value the papers of the plus one students of the government schools resulting in the administration promoting all the students to standard 12.

Addressing a press conference here BSP state president Thanga Kalaimaran demanded that the administration should appoint unemployed graduate teachers who were on fast seeking jobs to them.

He said even before the examination, the lecturers were on agitation and the government failed to resolve the issue, adding that the promotion of all the students to 12th standard would affect the standard of education.

He also demanded that the "all pass" scheme be extended to the eleventh standard students of Mahe and Yanam regions.

He said the children of government teachers were studying in private schools, hence they were indulging in agitations without any concern. The government should bring in an act that the children of government teachers should study in government schools, he added.

Pointing out that huge fees was being collected for admission even to LKG classes, Mr Kalaimaran said the party would soon organise agitations before the private schools here.

He said new office brearers for the party in all the regions of the Union territory would be appointed on the advice of the party leader Mayawathi who also agreed to consider Rajya Sabha seat to party leaders in the states.
