BJP's Women Wing to pursue 33 per cent reservation in Parliament

Dehradun, June 2 (UNI) Bharatiya Janta Party's (BJP) Women Wing President Kiran Maheshwari today said they would pursue 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament.

Addressing the media after the inaugural function of two-day National Executive meeting of the BJP's Women Wing in Rishikesh, Ms Maheshwari said, the wing would hold demonstration in Parliament on the reservation issue, she said, adding during Winter session.

They would also pursue the Ram Sethu issue.

A month long nationwide campaign, Sri Ram Sethu Conservation Campaign, would be initiated from June 10, 2007.

A signature campaign will also be held in which one crore signatures would be submitted to the President of India along with a charter of demands by the end of July.

Ms Maheshwari said, the women would also initiate a movement against female foeticide from October 10 to 20, on the occasion of 'Navratra'. They would also celebrate the festival of 'Raksha Bandhan' from August 24 to August 28 by tying the sacred thread to the soldiers serving at the borders.
