Kolkata, June 2 (UNI) Reaffirming that the peace process will continue in Nandigram, the Left Front today appealed to the Opposition to participate in the peace meets.

However, Left Front Chairman Biman Basu categorically said that the word ''genocide'' should not be used while discussing peace.

He told newsmen here, ''The state-level all party meeting for the peace move for Nandigram, which started from May 24, will continue and the opposition parties should come forward and sit across the table to discuss various matters with the Left Front.

Forward Bloc state secretary Ashok Ghosh submitted details of the all-party meeting of May 24 to the Front leaders. It was decided in the meeting that besides state-level, all-party meetings would be held in district and block levels, he added.

Mr Basu alleged that the opposition parties only participated in the state-level all-party meets while avoiding district-level ones.

''How can peace prevail in Nandigram if the opposition parties do not participate in the district-level meetings?,'' he questioned.

He said the government would organise a state-wide month-long programme from June 21 on the completion of its 30-year rule in West Bengal.

He also sought government assistance for the rehabilitation of those rendered homeless in yesterday's fire at Topsia.
