Veteran journalist urges govt to ban controversial book
Dharwad, Karnataka, Jun 1 (UNI) Veteran journalist and former Kannada watchdog committee Chairman Patil Puttappa today urged the Karnataka government to ban the controversial book 'Anudeva Horganvanu' penned by Banjagere Jayaprakash.
Addressing a press conference here, he also warned of an agitation if it was not banned within 15 days.
Mr Patil alleged that the book was written only to gain cheap popularity. Such books spoiled the peace of society and should be banned, he said.
The controversial book, which was reportedly defended by state Home Minister M P Prakash, himself a litterateur, was not right, he added.
