UP govt disbands Commission on Noida plot allotments
Lucknow, Jun 1 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today disbanded the A N Gupta commission, set up by the previous Mulayam Singh goverment, to probe irregularities in allotment of 1250 plots in Noida in July, 2005.
A decision to this effect was taken here at a state cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mayawati. The Cabinet also put stamp on the recommendation of CBI probe into this matter which had been announced earlier this week.
''The commission has not sent any suggestions since its inception hence the decision to dissolve it was taken,''UP Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh told reporters after the meeting.
The Cabinet also decided to dissolve State Subordinate Commission-2006 with immediate effect, he said.
In another major decision, the UP government today rolled back the decision to confer a seprate identity to King George Dental University (KGDU), which was renamed Shahuji Maharaj Dental University by the Mayawati government.
The Cabinet has decided to maintain the identity of Shahuji Maharaj University and the Medical College and Dental College would function under its umbrella.
