Shoot-at-sight orders in Sawai Madhopur

Jaipur, June 1 (UNI) Shoot-at-sight orders have been issued in Sawai Madhopur and Bharatpur districts of Rajasthan for those found damaging public and private property and disrupting law and order in the district.

Both the district Collectors issued the order which has come into effect from today and will be effective till June 7.

According to government officials, the order prohibits assembly of five or more people at a place and to shoot those found trying to damage public and private property.

These directions were issued along with the probhibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC.

The district collectors have issued directions to police force, paramilitary and army and district magistrate deployed in the area to ensure that the order is followed.

At least three people were killed in police firing yesterday, taking the toll in the violence to 22.
