Producers Guild takes up issues of VAT, Stamp Duty

Mumbai, June 1 (UNI) The Film and Television Producers' Guild of India Ltd has initiated a series of meetings with the concerned officials of the Maharashtra government to resolve VAT&Stamp Duty matters.

For the past three months or so, the Guild has been in constant parleys with the state to discuss the crucial issues of VAT and Stamp Duty, bearing severe repercussions on the entertainment industry. In this connection, a delegation from Guild, comprising luminaries from the entertainment industry, submitted representations to the State Finance Minister Jayant Patil enlisting proposals, queries and ambiguities pertaining to VAT and Stamp Duty.

The Minister subsequently invited the Guild delegation for a meeting where he heard the submissions of the industrial stalwarts.

The Guild is anticipating a positive feedback from the State Government in the coming days.
