PDP urges TN Govt to provide treatment to Madani
Kochi, Jun 1 (UNI) Kerala-based People's Democratic Party (PDP) State Working Chairman Poonthura Siraj today urged the Tamil Nadu Government to provide treatment to ailing party Chairman Abdul Nazar Madani, lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr Siraj said the party chief was incapacitated due to illness and the Government should take immmediate steps to provide treatment in a hospital.
Madani is one of the accused in Coimbatore serial blasts case in which 59 people were killed. The blast occurred in 1998 shortly before senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani was to address an election campaign meeting in the city.
He said the administration was unnecessarily delaying the verdict as the trial of the case was completed long back.
