Meena Gupta appointed new Secretray of Environment Ministry

New Delhi, June 1 (UNI) Ms Meena Gupta today took charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF).

A 1971 batch IAS officer of the Orissa cadre, Ms Gupta succeeds Pradipto Ghosh who retired yesterday.

She has worked in the same Ministry as Chief of this Regulatory Agency in 2003.

Earlier, she was the health secretary of the Orissa government.

Before joining the Ministry of Environment and Forests, she had worked as the Tribal Affairs Secretary.
