Justice Kurup takes over as Wage Boards Chairman

New Delhi, June 1 (UNI) Dr Justice K Narayana Kurup has assumed the office of the Chairman of the Wage Boards for working journalists and non-working journalists of newspapers and news agencies.

Dr Justice Kurup heads the two Wage Boards having 10 members each. The Wage Boards have been constituted for the purpose of fixing or revising wages of working journalists and newspaper employees and non working journalists.

The new wages would be recommended in accordance with the provisions of the Working Journalists and other Newspaper Employees (Conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1955. The Board is to submit its report within 3 years.

Dr Justice Kurup is a former judge of Kerala High Court and has also served as an Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court.
