Judicial remand of Katara extended for 14 days
New Delhi, June 1 (UNI) A city court today extended by 14 days judicial custody of suspended BJP MP Babubhai Katara for his alleged involvement in a human trafficking case.
Katara was arrested from IGI airport on a charge of impersonation, while trying to take a woman and a teenage boy to Toronto on the diplomatic passports of his wife and son in April.
The court partly heard the bail application of Katara and adjourned it for further arguements till June 8.
Mohammad Rassid, a travel agent of Hyderabad who was also accused of involving in the human trafficking case, was produced before the additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, who sent him in seven-day police custody for further investigation in the matter.
The Additional Chief Metropolitan Megistrate also partly heard the bail application of other accused -- Sunderlal, Kiran Dhar and Satwinder Singh -- and adjourned the hearing for further arguements on bail of the trio till June 5.
