Himachal CM mourns demise or former IE editor

Shimla, June 1 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Vitbhadra Singh today mourned the death of former editor of Indian Express, Prem Kumar, who passed away at New Delhi early yesterday.

Kumar was a dedicated and seasoned journalist who had dedicated his life to the cause of ethical journalism, he said in his condolence message to the bereaved family.

Mr Singh said he was an upright editor whose writings were known for precision, objectivity and analysis of complicated political developments.

Responsible reporting during odd situations were his specialty, he added.

Several senior state administrative officials, including Information and Public Relations Principal Secretary T G Negi, have also offered their condolences to the bereaved families.
