HC rejects plea to stay cancellation of Achuthanandan son's Ph D

Kochi, Jun 1 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today declined to stay a plea of the Kerala University to cancel the Ph D registration of V A Arun Kumar, son of Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan.

While declining to stay further proceedings initiated by the University following the cancellation of the court order, Justice S Sirijagan issued the notice to the University on a petition filed by Mr Kumar, challenging the decision of the University syndicate.

The university took the step after finding Mr Kumar ineligible on the grounds that he did not have the requisite seven years of teaching practice.

The petitioner had contended that the finding of the syndicate was not sustainable.
