Gujjars clash with police, several injured

Faridabad, June 1 (UNI) Several people were injured, including four policemen when Gujjar demonstrators clashed with police which resorted to lathicharge and firing in the air here today .

Superintendent of Police Alok Mittal said, over 150 demonstrators blocked the Khedi road, burnt a police vehicle and pelted policemen with stones.

Police resorted to lathicharge and opened fire in the air to disperse the people, he said.

As many as four policemen were injured in the stone pelting, the SP said adding that he had no information about the number of people injured in the incident.

One person had been arrested and a case registered against 17 people under Sections 307, 332 and 353 of the IPC, the SP said.
