Srinagar, June 1 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Gopal Sharma today promoted four police personnel for showing exemplary professionalism by eliminating the two militants who attacked an Army convoy at Sheeri in Baramulla district.

The DGP and Inspector General of Police S M Sahai rushed to the police training centre at Sheeri to personally appreciate the work of the police personnel.

Mr Sharma later announced on-the-spot promotions to four police personnel for showing exemplary professionalism by eliminating the two militants in a joint operation with the Army.

The police personnel had thwarted a major tragedy and minimised the loss, he added.
