Cong demands White Paper on welfare schemes in Kerala, WB
Hyderabad, Jun 1 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislative Party (CLP) today demanded that the CPI-M release a White Paper on the implementation of welfare programmes in West Bengal and Kerala, ruled by the party.
In an open letter to CPI(M) state Secretary and Polit Bureau member B V Raghavulu, a copy of which was released to the press here, Congress MP V Aruna Kumar and Government Whip S Udaya Bhanu alleged that the Left party had adopted a 'secret agenda' to provide political mileage to the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
They demanded that the CPI(M) release a White Paper on the implementation of pension schemes, land distribution, housing to the poor and employment in the two Left-ruled states.
Claiming that the Andhra Pradesh Government was successfully implementing welfare programmes in a transparent manner, the Congress leaders said it had distributed 4.37 lakh acres of land to the poor during the last three years.
