Boisterous rock buffs welcome Aerosmith to electronic city

Bangalore, June 1 (UNI) Aerosmith, the 'bad boys from Boston' who will perform their first concert in the land of 'elephants and cobra', were given a boisterous welcome from the rock music fans when they arrived here, this evening.

The ageing band, who had been enthralling the rock music fans world-wide for over three decades, looked sprightly, said they were most excited to be in India. The band lead singer Steven Tyler said he had never seen India but it was always ''in my mind''.

''First thing we want so savour is the sweet taste of India. Then comes of course, the Chicken Vindaloo'', he told reporters at the airport.

Over 25,000 fans were expected to throng the Palace Grounds here tomorrow night to enjoy the high-octane show from the most reversed contemporary rock bands in the world.

Tomorrow the 33-year-old band would be enthralling the audience with some of their best compositions, including -- living on the edge, walk this way, ...looks like a lady and sweet emotions.

The band came in two different aircrafts. While the band members and their family -- in all 28 of them, came in their private jet, the other members of the contingent came in another aircraft from Dubai where they performed yesterday.

Asked what he liked most of an Indian woman, Mr Steve said ''allabout the Bindi''.

Lead Guitarist Joe Perry said he had high expectations on India which was on his mind for 'years'. ''I have come here to experience the incense of this country and savour its food which is known for the spices used in it,'' he added.
