Bharati hands over Multirole offshore Vessel to French firm
Mumbai, June 1 (UNI) Bourbon Atlas, USD 14 million multi-purpose Platform Supply Vessel (MPSV) built by Bharati Shipyard, was handed over to French shipping firm Bourbon Offshore.
The vessel, which has been equipped for oil recovery, will be mainly used for maintenance work in oil and gas fields on the continental shelf of West Africa for the first charter and for limited remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations, Shipyard MD P C Kapoor said.
''The shipyard has got 41 vessels in our order book which stands at Rs 3,554 crore. These next-generation vessels precisely meet future client demands for safety, manoeuvrability, environmental protection and productivity besides multi-role utility concept of the buyers.'' Bourbon Atlas is the first of four MPSVs ordered by Bourbon Offshore. The remaining three vessels are expected to be delivered before 2008.
The vessels have been designed as diesel-electric, classed DP2 and FiFi1, with a length of 60 meter and with sleeping accommodation for 44 persons on board.
