YPS trounce HPS, Jhajjar in Under-13 Hot Weather cricket

Patiala, May 31 (UNI) Yadavindra Public School (YPS), Patiala, trounced HPS, Jhajjar (Haryana) by 210 runs here in the ongoing 9th Hot Weather Cricket Tournament (Under-13) today at the YPS ground.

YPS won the toss and elected to bat first. In the allotted 40 overs, YPS piled up 265, losing eight wickets. Most of the YPS top order batsmen were in the thick of runs. Rajeshwar Singh (65), Karan Kaila (58), Harkirat Singh (40) and Rhythm Kashyap (25) tore the HPS bowling attack to shreds.

For HPS, Bhupinder Singh was the only bowler to create an impression on YPS batsmen, capturing 4 wickets for 20 runs.

In reply, HPS were bundled out for a paltry 55 in mere 16.3 overs. Rahul Malik and Narinder Sharma were the only HPS batsmen to score double figures, each scoring 10 runs.

For YPS, Harkirat Singh bagged 4 wickets, giving away 34 runs, Rajeshwar Singh took 3 for 13 and Karan Kaila 2 for 1.

HPS are out of the Tournament, while Sumit Dogra academy, Delhi and the local YPS have entered the knock out stage.
