TN bypoll: police officials transferred

Madurai, May 31 (UNI) Close on the heels of the transfer of 15 Police Sub Inspectors in the city, three Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) have been shifted ahead of the coming by-election to the Madurai West Assembly Constituency.

One of the transferred ACP had been kept under waiting without any posting.

According to the police, the ACP(L&O) of Thilagar Thidal N Rajendran had been made the DSP (Crime Branch-CID) while ACP (L&O) Anna Nagar had been posted as DSP 'Q' Branch. The third ACP, M Sundaresan (Town) had been transferred without posting.

These transfers assume significance in view of the bypoll scheduled for May 26.
